Subject: Nominate High Potential Employee(s) for “Coaching Grants”
YC founders,
As you know, the pandemic has affected many of us in the startup community in different ways which impacts how we show up at home and the workplace. But even as we get back to some “normalcy” with the rollout of vaccines and different versions of “returning to work”, many employees will have unresolved challenges and mental blocks preventing them from doing their best work.
Starting in August, I’ll be carving out a few "coaching grants" (no fees) for non-founder employees at early stage startups to experience the benefits of 1:1 and group coaching programs. This is intended to be a “pay it forward gift” for a few early stage startups that don’t have the budget but are eagerly seeking ways to support their high potential employees.
I’m accepting nominations from my clients (you) by Friday August 12th. This can include employees at your startup and also friends (non-founders) at startups you're close to. Starting next week, if these spots aren't filled, I'll extend the invite to my broader network.
Group Coaching for Mental Stress (4 grants available, 2 cohorts of 5)
Ideal for employees
Who are experiencing mental stress, such as anxiety, frustration, or unhappiness, as they navigate work and relationship challenges
6 week program that includes
Weekly 1-hour video sessions
Exclusive app guiding a daily practice
PDF copy of New York Times best selling book “Positive Intelligence”
Weekly group coaching sessions with Eddie and cohort of 5 participants
The fee for this program is $1125 for each participant but I’ll be waving it. Instead I’m asking participants to make a one time “donate whatever you can” to Coaching for Everyone (501c3) which is providing complimentary coaching and leadership services to traditionally under-resourced populations, particularly BIPOC young adults, K-12 educators, and nonprofit employees

Shirzad Chamine (Stanford Lecturer, TEDx Speaker) is the creator of the PQ program which is a synthesis of recent breakthroughs in neuroscience, cognitive and positive psychology, and performance science. Eddie trained with Shirzad last year and now bringing his 6 week program to early stage startups to help employees manage the roller coast ride of emotions of building a company.
