I coach first-time founders from seed to their first $10M ARR, when what made them great starts making them the bottleneck. I held that title for years. Nobody told me either.

Clearing it takes two things: the leadership skills that enable a team to move and learn fast without waiting on its founder, and the personal practices that keep a founder steady in the chaos of PMF, GTM, and team building.

The method is familiar: systems thinking, small experiments, tight feedback loops. The pacing is not. The partnership runs at two speeds: enough urgency to move the business this week, and enough space for the inner growth that takes longer. The two rarely share a room.

Previously, built teams from 0 to 100+ at Optimizely (seed to $120M ARR), IronPort ($830M acquisition), and Marketo (IPO). Trained in leadership (Co-Active), psychology and systems dynamics (NLP Marin), and mindfulness and somatic practices (Esalen Institute, Pranic Healing, Qi Gong).
